Are you a Software Commissioning Test Team Leader and looking for your next Contract opportunity?

Do you have hands on experience of Siemens PLC and SCADA systems?

Our client is a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across the chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables and food & beverage markets and they are looking for a Software Commissioning Test Team Leader in the Reading area. This is a 6 month Outside of IR35 contract opportunity.

Role & Responsibilities:

Our client are seeking a dedicated and experienced Software Commissioning Test Team Leader to join their client's team in Reading. The successful candidate will:

Supervise onsite commissioning activities to ensure safe, compliant, and accurate testing.
Review commissioning documentation and Safe System of Work (SSoW) for suitability.
Ensure adherence to the commissioning document and SSoW by all participants.
Work according to approved commissioning procedures and SSoW, coordinating with other parties and attending site planning meetings.
Apply for, record, monitor, and remove Temporary Commissioning Aids with the necessary approvals.
Control situations and ensure safety in the event of incidents, preserving the scene for investigation and withdrawing personnel.
Ensure the final state of plant configuration post-commissioning aligns with the commissioning document or as agreed with the commissioning manager.

Skills & Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC and SCADA systems.
Strong understanding of control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutions.
Essential experience in testing and onsite commissioning.
Excellent health and safety awareness, with SSSTS or SMSTS preferred.
Essential possession of a CSCS card or equivalent.

Desirable Experience:

Familiarity with plant historians.
Knowledge of network design and configuration.
Understanding of cyber security measures.
Experience with functional safety.
Knowledge of industrial protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC, etc.

This is a site based opportunity and the hourly rate for this will reflect the scope and significance of the client in their sector.
