Position: Social Worker - Mental Health Team

Hourly Rate: £30.00 per hour
About the Role:
Ackerman Pierce is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join the Mental Health Team at Blackburn Council. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert support and leadership within a committed team, ensuring the highest standards of mental health care and support for our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advanced practice leadership and support to social workers within the Mental Health Team.
Manage a complex caseload, ensuring assessments, care plans, and interventions are delivered to a high standard.
Conduct regular supervision and mentoring of social workers, including those undertaking ASYE.
Ensure effective multi-agency collaboration to safeguard and promote the mental health and well-being of service users.
Lead on the development and implementation of best practice models within the team.
Chair meetings, including case conferences, strategy meetings, and multi-agency planning meetings.
Provide expert advice and guidance on complex cases and risk management.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's performance through audits, reflective practice, and training.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work or equivalent.
Registered with Social Work England.
Extensive experience in a mental health social care setting.
Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide advanced practice leadership.
Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the mental health and well-being of service users.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
