Children's Social Worker - Social Care Team
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Rate: Up to £38.00 per hour
Contract: Full-Time Locum

SW Locums are recruiting for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Social Care Team at Kent County Council in Canterbury. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established local authority committed to supporting children, young people, and families across Kent.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a Children & Families caseload of varying levels of complexity, including assessments, planning, intervention, reviews, and evaluations.

Complete welfare reports and attend court proceedings when required.
*
Work in line with the Social Care Capability Framework (SCCF).
*
Develop effective partnerships with statutory, voluntary, and private sector agencies, carers, and parents.
*
Maintain accurate and timely case recordings using agreed systems.
*
Apply legislation, local policies, and procedures relating to Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children.
*
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people through effective social work practice.
Requirements:
*
Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
*
Experience within Children's Social Care.
*
Strong assessment, safeguarding, and case management skills.
*
ASYE to be completed within 2 years of qualification.
