Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker looking for your next locum opportunity? We are recruiting for a Social Worker – Assessment & Referral Team to join Kingston and Richmond on a full-time locum contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive frontline team, making a real difference to children and families at the earliest stages of intervention.

Pay Rate: £37.52 per hour

Hours: 37 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Hybrid Working: Flexible hybrid working available

About the Role

You'll be part of the Referral & Assessment Team, undertaking timely assessments and safeguarding interventions to ensure children receive the right support when they need it most. Working closely with families and partner agencies, you'll help manage risk, promote positive outcomes, and support children through the early stages of statutory intervention.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing referrals, Child in Need and Child Protection cases.

*

Undertaking child and family assessments, safeguarding investigations, and safety planning.

*

Participating in strategy discussions, Child Protection Conferences, and pre-proceedings work.

*

Preparing high-quality reports, court statements, and care plans.

*

Carrying out direct work with children and families, ensuring the child's voice remains central to all decision-making.

*

Managing a varied caseload while meeting statutory timescales and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners.

What We're Looking For

*

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

*

Completed ASYE.

*

Experience within Children's Assessment, Referral, Safeguarding, or Front Door services.

*

Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, assessment, court work, and risk management.

*

Excellent communication, analytical, and case management skills.
