Are you studying Social Work and looking to gain valuable hands-on experience while making a real difference to young people's lives?

We're recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Social Work Students to work as Behaviour Mentors in schools across Newport. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills supporting children and young people, while building experience that complements your studies and future career.

The Role

???? Support pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support

???? Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

???? Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and engagement with learning

???? Build strong relationships with pupils, teachers and pastoral teams

???? Record progress and contribute to behaviour support strategies

Who We're Looking For

✅ Currently studying Social Work or a related degree

✅ Experience working with children or young people is essential (placement, volunteering, youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care or similar)

✅ Calm, patient and resilient approach

✅ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

✅ Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential

✅ Welsh-speaking skills are desirable but not essential

✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
