Birmingham City Council are seeking 10 experienced qualified Social Workers to join the Early Intervention Community Team (EICT).

Your new role
Birmingham City Council are looking to recruit 10 experienced Social Workers to work within a strong Early Intervention Community Team. The Early Intervention programme was established in late 2018 in response to a system-wide diagnostic and a Care Quality Commission (CQC) review of the health and social care provision for older people in Birmingham. The programme aims to provide a range of targeted interventions:

Promoting faster recovery from illness or injury
Preventing unnecessary hospital admission and premature admission to long-term residential care
Supporting timely discharge from hospital and maximising independent living.As a social worker, you will have knowledge in management of a complex caseload, good knowledge of safeguarding MCA and Best Interests decision-making.We are also looking for someone who can commence working with us quite quickly for a 6-month contract in the first instance, with the potential to be ongoing for the right candidate. You will be working at one of the EICT locations in Birmingham along with home working.
Working Hours:
8:30am - 5pm (Mon - Thurs) and 8:30am - 4:30pm (Friday).
Hybrid Working:
2 days in office per week. You will be required to attend the office for meetings.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will need to have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and Social Work England registration. Newly qualified Socia workers will be considered if SWE registration has been obtained.
