Slinger/Banksman

Description:

Our client, a tier 2 contractor in the construction sector, is currently seeking an experienced Slinger/Banksman for a long-term contract in Hawick, starting on 22/07/2024. This role is essential for the effective handling and directing of lifting operations on a busy construction site dedicated to water projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely sling and direct loads being lifted by cranes or other lifting equipment
Communicate effectively with crane operators and other on-site personnel
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
Inspect and maintain lifting equipment
Assist in various other tasks as directed by the site manager
Provide clear and precise hand signals to crane operators
Work collaboratively with other team members
Maintain a clean and organised work area

Job Requirements:

CPCS Blue-Slinger ticket
Experience in construction, particularly in water-related projects
Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and in challenging conditions
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Reliable with a strong work ethic
