Meat Processing Operative (Abbatoir)

Ayr, KA8

£11.44 per hour (starting rate)

TM Scotland East Kilbride & Glasgow branch is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a new client based in Ayrshire, who are a fully integrated beef supplier with long-established relationships with many of Scotland’s biggest and best cattle farms.

Each job in the meat processing facility has been assigned points, and what each staff member is paid depends on the jobs they can do, reflecting their skill level and physical effort. We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role and strong knife skills.

What are your duties and responsibilities as a meat processing operative?

· Safely slaughter livestock according to industry standards.

· Utilise knife skills to perform precise and efficient cuts during the slaughtering process.

· Ensure all procedures are conducted with attention to animal welfare and product quality.

· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the slaughtering area to comply with food safety regulations

· Work collaboratively with team members to efficiently complete tasks and meet production goals

What do we require for our client?

· Previous experience in a meat processing or similar environment.

· Strong knife skills and familiarity with meat processing procedures.

· A reference from a previous employer within the last 2 years.

· Excellent attention to detail

· Knowledge on Food Safety and regulations and previous experience with HACCP

· Due to location and start time you must have your own transport and hold a valid UK driving licence.
