Location: Sizewell C, Leiston
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Supervisor to join our Sizewell team. To be considered, you will come from a Civil Engineering background. Previous experience in ground works, Tier 1 environment with attention to health, safety, environment and quality. The ideal candidate will have to hold a full UK driving licence.
The Site Supervisor will be responsible to contribute to the operations in the construction of civil engineering and building works. Ensure a project is built safely, economically to the agreed timescales and quality standards. This document should be read in conjuction with the Galldris Services Ltd Safety Management System.
Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to:
* Demonstrate awareness and control of the cost, liability within own area of responsibility and monitor and manage the hiring of plant and material order through construction support. Demonstrate awareness of Contractual requirements relevant to their works activities
* Maintain accurate site record, daily diaries and weekly progress reports
* Identify and act on opportunities to reduce Cost and or add value to the project
* Appreciate the different and safe techniques required to move, handle and store resources and how risk assessments, methods statements and manufacturers’ guidance relate to their activities
* To ensure that all plant is maintained to a high standard, and serviceability of all plant on site. Comprehends how to use and maintain hand tools, power tools and ancillary equipment and is able to interpret/ apply information from drawings and specifications
* Acts promptly and positively to challenge inappropriate behaviour and treats people with respect. Works as an effective member of the team and understands how their contribution, actions and behaviour impact on the team. Is able to communicate effectively and present issues succinctly and persuasively either orally or in written format
* Manage performance and identify learning and development needs for their teams, at the monthly supervisor’s team meetings. Able to organise and assigned tasks, for completion alone or with your team
* Report in accordance with Group policy any Accidents/Dangerous Occurrences on site which results in an injury to any person and /or damage to plant or equipment
* Prioritises own work in line with set objectives and seeks advice and guidance when priorities are not clear. Identify, communicate to the team the requirements and put measures in place to ensure the successful completion of the project
* Secure and managed appropriate resources to deliver the project effectively and efficiently in a professional manner to ensure successful delivery within project constrains
* Establish relationships with all parties on the construction site, during the duration of the project. Undertake toolbox talks and daily tasks briefings
* Manages those under their control and work safely, and economically by co-ordinating activities with others
* Identify own development needs and take action to meet those needs
* Understand the importance of equality and diversity and demonstrate these qualities so as to meet the requirements of fairness at work
* Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position
* Comply with Company polices & procedures
Experience/Knowledge:
* Awareness of all key health and safety legislation
* Understanding of trades best practice and quality control
* Good knowledge of prelims & waste cost control
* Understanding of technical specifications
* Use own knowledge and expertise to help others when requested
Qualifications:
* SSSTS – Essential
* NVQ L3 Site Supervision – Desirable
* CSCS Gold Supervisor Card – Desirable Driving license – Essential
Skills:
* Well-developed organisational skills
* Experience of materials/plant scheduling
* Demonstrate knowledge of planning and able to undertake work practices productively. Competent to read, interpret and apply information from drawings, specifications and construction information
* Good project supervisory skills
* Able to work with others in a collaborative and non-confrontational way
* Able to work within own level of capabilities and know when to seek advice from others
