An opportunity has arisen for a Site Operative - Waste Services to join the Landmarc team at Westdown Camp, Wiltshire.

As the Site Operative - Waste Services you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, working closely with a small team of 5 people, responsible for collecting, sorting and separating waste into different recycling streams.

This position is based on a permanent contract, working 37 hours per week from Monday – Friday.

Main ResponsibilitiesTo ensure a first class waste collection and recycling service is provided

Driving and operating fleet vehicles

Trailer towing and fork lift driving (training provided)

Collecting, separating and sorting waste into different recycling streams

Use of compactors and bailing machines

Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation

To help maintain the efficient running of the sorting station and to adhere to waste and sustainability guidelines

The Ideal CandidateKnowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Excellent communicator with people on all levels

Ability to operate fork lift (desirable)

Basic IT skills

Willingness to undertake further training

Must hold a full valid UK driving licence (essential)

Previous experience working in a Waste Management Environment (desirable)

Working towards gaining a forklift qualification if not already
