Location: Hebburn & Port Clarence
 
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum
 
Car Allowance: £14,000 per annum
 
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
 
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays

Pin Point Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Operations Manager to oversee two manufacturing sites in Hebburn and Port Clarence.
 
This is a senior operational role with responsibility for production, maintenance, health & safety, environmental compliance, quality, logistics and people management across both sites.
 
The successful candidate will ideally come from a chemical, process, manufacturing or COMAH-regulated environment, with strong experience of managing production operations and leading teams.
 
As Site Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring both sites operate safely, efficiently and in line with production targets, quality standards and customer requirements.
 
You will lead and develop the production and maintenance teams, drive continuous improvement and ensure the sites remain compliant with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
 
A key part of the role will be overseeing the Port Clarence Upper Tier COMAH site, ensuring all safety-critical processes, procedures, training and emergency arrangements are maintained to the required standard.
 
Key Responsibilities
·       Take overall operational responsibility for the Hebburn and Port Clarence sites.
·       Lead, manage and develop production, engineering and maintenance teams.
·       Ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
·       Manage site Health & Safety, Environmental, IPPC and COMAH requirements.
·       Ensure all safety-critical tasks, procedures and training requirements are maintained and regularly reviewed.
·       Maintain accurate training matrices and ensure employees are suitably trained and competent.
·       Ensure accidents, incidents and near misses are properly investigated and appropriate corrective actions completed.
·       Act as a Senior Incident Controller when required and ensure appropriate emergency response cover is maintained.
·       Manage HAZOPs, emergency drills and exercises and ensure findings are acted upon.
·       Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve plant performance, efficiency and reliability.
·       Work closely with Engineering, Laboratory, Security, Accounts, Transport and Purchasing teams to ensure smooth site operations.
·       Ensure raw materials, equipment and resources are available to support continuous production.
·       Oversee finished product logistics and incoming raw material movements.
·       Ensure all process, plant and procedural changes are correctly assessed through the Management of Change process.
·       Maintain product quality and minimise customer complaints through effective process control and operator training.
·       Investigate customer complaints and ensure effective root cause analysis and preventative actions are completed.
·       Manage staffing levels, recruitment, sickness, holidays and timekeeping across production and maintenance.
·       Ensure appropriate housekeeping standards are maintained across both sites.
·       Maintain and regularly test Business Continuity Plans.
·       Support site development, including new plant, processes and production transfers.
·       Work closely with senior management to deliver operational and business objectives.
 
About You
·       Previous experience in a Site Manager, Operations Manager, Plant Manager or Senior Production Management position.
·       Experience within chemical, process, manufacturing or another highly regulated environment.
·       Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and environmental compliance.
·       Experience working within a COMAH environment would be highly advantageous.
·       Strong understanding of production, maintenance and plant operations.
·       Experience managing and developing operational and engineering teams.
·       A strong understanding of HAZOP, Management of Change and safety-critical processes.
·       Excellent leadership and communication skills.
·       A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving.
·       The ability to work across multiple departments and build strong relationships at all levels.
