Site Manager – Portsmouth – Immediate Start
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established contractor on a project based in Portsmouth, with an immediate start available.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term role with a reputable business, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations and ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and confident managing both site teams and client relationships. An engineering background or previous engineering experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing the day-to-day running of the site
* Ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards
* Maintaining excellent health & safety standards across the project
* Coordinating subcontractors, labour, plant, and materials
* Acting as the main point of contact for the client and attending site meetings
* Producing site reports and maintaining accurate project records
* Resolving site issues quickly and effectively to keep works progressing
* Driving programme and maintaining a well-organised, efficient site
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Site Manager within the construction or civil engineering sector
* SMSTS
* CSCS Card
* First Aid at Work
* Strong health & safety knowledge and leadership skills
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Client-facing experience with the ability to build strong working relationships
* Engineering background or engineering experience desirable but not essential
