Site Manager - Food Manufacturing Facility Projects

Location: Barnsley

Project: site-based construction and installation works within a live food manufacturing environment

Role Overview

We are currently looking to speak with experienced Site Managers for an upcoming project at a food manufacturing facility in Barnsley.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating contractors, maintaining health and safety standards and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme within a live operational environment.

This role would suit a Site Manager with proven experience working on food, FMCG, manufacturing, process, industrial or clean environment construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily site operations and contractor activity on a live manufacturing facility
Ensure all works are completed safely, on time and in line with project requirements
Review and manage RAMS, permits to work, inductions and site documentation
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers and client-side stakeholders
Maintain high standards of health, safety, housekeeping and site discipline
Ensure works are planned around live production and operational constraints
Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates
Monitor quality of works and ensure compliance with agreed specifications
Manage site logistics, access, deliveries and any interface with production teams
Support project delivery teams with planning, sequencing and issue resolution

Essential Requirements

SMSTS certification
Valid CSCS card
Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction or engineering projects
Previous experience working within a food manufacturing facility
Strong understanding of health and safety, RAMS, permits and contractor control
Experience working on live operational sites
Ability to manage multiple contractors and work packages
Strong communication and organisational skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment

Desirable Experience

Experience with hygiene-sensitive or clean environment construction works
Background in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, FMCG or process manufacturing
First Aid at Work
Experience managing shutdowns, upgrades, refurbishments or installation projects
