Site Manager - Anaerobic Digestion Plant

Sheppey, Kent

£55,000 - £60,000 + Benefits

Experienced in Anaerobic Digestion? Ready to take ownership of a site and play a key role in its long-term success?

If you're an experienced AD professional who knows what it takes to keep a plant running safely, efficiently and reliably, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

We're looking for an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of an established anaerobic digestion facility, leading the site team and driving performance across safety, production, maintenance, compliance and continuous improvement.

This is not a role for someone looking to simply maintain the status quo.

You'll have genuine responsibility, the opportunity to influence how the site operates and the backing of a wider management team to implement improvements and drive performance.

Why consider this opportunity?

✔ Attractive basic salary & package
A competitive salary and benefits package designed to recognise the experience you bring to the role.

✔ Long-term job security
Join an established operation within the growing renewable energy and AD sector and build a long-term career rather than simply taking your next job.

✔ Real ownership of the site
You'll have responsibility for the day-to-day operation, performance and development of the facility.

✔ Lead and develop a team
Manage operators, set standards, develop your people and create a strong culture of safety and performance.

✔ Make a measurable difference
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, safety and productivity - and then take ownership of delivering those improvements.

THE ROLE

As Site Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the AD plant operates safely, reliably and efficiently.

You'll take ownership of day-to-day site operations, working closely with operators, contractors, senior management and external stakeholders to maintain high levels of plant performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading all day-to-day site activities and driving high standards of plant performance.
Managing and developing the site operations team.
Analysing and resolving production and process issues.
Planning and coordinating planned maintenance and contractor activity to minimise downtime.
Managing the out-of-hours call-out rota and providing operational support when required.
Taking responsibility for site-level budgets and cost control.
Maintaining a strong health and safety culture across the facility.
Managing the Environmental Permit and ensuring site conditions and certifications remain compliant.
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including Ofgem, National Grid, HSE, Environment Agency, APHA and PAS 110.
Managing recruitment, training, performance reviews and development of site personnel.
Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting operational and performance information to senior management.
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, equipment, safety, quality and productivity.
Taking ownership of improvement initiatives from identification through to implementation.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

This is an AD-specific opportunity, so previous experience working within the anaerobic digestion sector is essential.

We're looking for someone who understands the realities of operating an AD plant and can confidently take ownership of site performance.

You'll ideally bring:

Proven experience within anaerobic digestion.
Previous experience in a site management, operations management, shift management or senior operational role within AD.
Strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of industrial/process plant operations.
Experience managing and developing people.
A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
The ability to manage competing priorities and remain effective under pressure.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
A genuine sense of ownership and accountability.
The confidence to challenge existing processes and find better ways of working.COTC, IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous, but are not essential.

THIS IS MORE THAN YOUR NEXT JOB

If you've built your career in anaerobic digestion and you're ready for a role where your experience is genuinely valued, this is an opportunity to step into a position with responsibility, stability and long-term potential.

You'll be joining an operation where your decisions will have a direct impact on plant reliability, efficiency, safety and profitability.

If you're looking for a secure next step in the AD industry, with an attractive basic salary and package, this could be the opportunity to take your career to the next level.

If you have the AD experience, the leadership capability and the ambition to take ownership - we want to hear from you.

To apply for this role please send your CV to or call (phone number removed) ext 202 for more information.
