SITE MANAGER
Main Contractor | Central Scotland
An established and highly regarded Scottish main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join its growing operational team. The business delivers a varied portfolio of construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, retail and leisure sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable Site Manager who can take day-to-day ownership of projects on site, maintaining strong standards of health & safety, quality, programme and client service.
Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of projects on site.
Manage and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, suppliers and site activities.
Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
Monitor progress against the construction programme and proactively address potential delays.
Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
Maintain high standards of health & safety and ensure site procedures are followed at all times.
Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks and appropriate safety briefings.
Maintain accurate site records, diaries and progress reports.
Coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics.
Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.
Manage quality control, snagging and close-out through to successful handover.
Work closely with Project Managers and the commercial team to support efficient project delivery.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience as a Site Manager within a main contracting environment.
Experience delivering refurbishment, fit-out and/or general construction projects.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and site management.
Confident managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to quality and detail with a professional, client-focused approach.
Good working knowledge of current health & safety requirements.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
SMSTS and CSCS required; First Aid certification is advantageous.
Full UK driving licence.
