Site Manager - Steel Frame Construction
Location: South West London Salary: Competitive + Package Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent/Contract
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in steel frame construction to join their growing team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable contractor delivering a range of commercial, industrial, residential, and mixed-use steel frame projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all on-site operations from mobilisation through to completion.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
* Ensure steel frame erection works are carried out safely and in accordance with programme requirements.
* Monitor project progress and report regularly to senior management.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
* Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and site inductions.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, structural engineers, and project teams.
* Manage site logistics, materials, and plant requirements.
* Identify and resolve construction issues to minimise delays.
* Ensure all works comply with current regulations, specifications, and company procedures.
Requirements
Essential
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on steel frame construction projects.
* Strong understanding of structural steel erection and associated trades.
* Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and site management practices.
* Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme targets.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications
* SMSTS
* CSCS Card (Black or appropriate management level)
* First Aid at Work
* Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable)
* Appointed Person or Crane/Lifting Operations experience (desirable)
