If you are an exceptional Site Manager who can cross over between the project management and the construction related activity, this opportunity could be for you!
On offer is an immediate start for a Site Manager - Waste to Energy Installation in the Bristol area.
You will have a holistic approach to the site management of plant installation from site establishment through to commissioning and handover of a Hazardous Waste to Energy project.
The successful candidate with have overall responsibility for the construction site and CDM requirements. Along with management of site activities; aligning the project to business goals, creation of detailed project plans, manage team and sub-contractors, achieve milestones, mitigate risks, effective stakeholder communications and delivery of the project within agreed timescales and to budget.
*Project scale Circa £20million*
You must have a strong background in construction and be capable of overseeing plant construction and assembly; this is a crucial requirement for all candidates applying for this position.
YOUR NEW ROLE/ RESPONSIBILITIES
*
Overall responsibility for CDM Management of the project
*
Responsible for the site-based works including coordination and supervision of installation, construction workers and client’s construction works
*
Awareness and compliance of contract terms, preparing regular update reports and updating as required by the Contract Manager
*
Assist in maintaining a detailed project plan; monitor progress and performance against it; prepare technical and project status data
*
Plan all phases of plant installation, develop project schedule and manage critical paths in support of the Contract Manager ensuring accurate project documentation is completed and updates are communicated to stakeholders in a timely manner
*
Perform risk management to minimise project risks, assure timely resolution of issues
*
Identify resource requirements in line with budgets
*
Health & Safety responsibility
*
Review and monitor RAMS
*
Provision of site inductions
*
Key interface with sub-contractors
*
Facilitate technical discussions and manage construction and delivery activities, including mechanical and electrical works
*
Cross learning and sharing best practice with wider project team
*
Interface with the wider project team to ensure resources & materials are purchased within necessary project timescales
*
Responsible for ensuring quality is met on the project with support from the Quality Manager.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES
*
Proven Site Management experience in a Construction Environment – preferably waste to energy and/or process plant
*
Demonstrable related site management experience at the project scale
*
Experience of working within contractual terms, ideally IChemE Red Book
*
In-depth understanding of construction procedures
*
Understanding of industrial mechanical & electrical drawings, P&IDs and installation procedures (combustion and steam generation experience preferred)
*
MUST have SMSTS, CSCS Card and MUST have a recognised Site Management qualification
*
Experience of managing a Considerate Construction site an advantage
*
Experience of contract management advantageous
*
Demonstrated experience of performing similar role (essential)
*
Fully conversant with Microsoft project & Office suite (essential)
*
First Aid Qualification - preferred
*
ISO/AS standards understanding
*
Hold valid UK Driving Licence
