Site Manager (Renewables & Retrofit)

Location: Harrow

Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

About the Role

Our client is a leading contractor delivering large-scale retrofit, decarbonisation and renewable energy projects across the UK. Working predominantly within the social housing sector, they specialise in improving the energy efficiency of residential properties through the installation of low-carbon technologies and sustainable building solutions.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee renewable energy and retrofit projects across Harrow. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional with experience managing refurbishment, retrofit or renewable energy schemes.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with clients, subcontractors and operational teams, you will coordinate labour, monitor progress and ensure compliance with all health, safety and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day running of construction sites from start to completion.

Produce and issue weekly progress reports to the contract management team.

Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure compliance across all works.

Monitor project programmes and coordinate labour and subcontractor resources to meet delivery targets.

Deliver regular toolbox talks and promote a strong health and safety culture on site.

Plan site logistics, welfare facilities and equipment requirements.

Coordinate material orders and deliveries in line with the construction programme.

Ensure works are completed to the required quality standards, specifications and building regulations.

Liaise with commercial teams regarding variations, cost control and project progress.

Chair regular site progress meetings with clients and subcontractors.

Maintain accurate site records, reports and project documentation.

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

Essential

Previous experience as a Site Manager within construction.

Experience delivering retrofit, renewable energy, refurbishment or social housing projects.

SMSTS Certificate.

Valid CSCS Card.

First Aid at Work (3-Day).

Full UK Driving Licence.

Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Desirable

Knowledge of PAS 2030 and PAS 2035.

NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management.

Experience managing decarbonisation or energy efficiency programmes.
