A reputable main contractor is seeking an experienced No.2 Site Manager to join the team on the delivery of a £15m traditional build new-build care home.

Reporting directly to the onsite Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful day-to-day management of the project, taking ownership of site operations, health & safety, logistics and subcontractor coordination throughout the construction programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy contractor with a strong order book and a proven track record of delivering high-quality healthcare, residential and commercial projects.

The Role

As No.2 Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Managing the day-to-day running of the site.
Coordinating and supervising subcontractors.
Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Leading all site health & safety activities.
Conducting inductions, toolbox talks and site inspections.
Managing site logistics, deliveries and material flow.
Overseeing crane operations and lifting activities.
Coordinating traffic management and site access arrangements.
Monitoring progress against programme targets.
Maintaining site records and ensuring compliance documentation is up to date.
Driving quality standards across all trades.
Assisting the Project Manager with reporting, planning and client interface activities.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have:

Previous experience as a Site Manager or No.2 Site Manager with a recognised main contractor.
Experience delivering traditional build projects.
Experience on projects valued in excess of £10m.
Strong knowledge of site logistics and coordination.
Experience managing tower cranes and/or mobile crane operations.
A proactive approach to health & safety management.
Excellent subcontractor management and communication skills.
The ability to drive programme and maintain high-quality standards on site.

CSCS Black or Gold Card
First Aid at Work
Full UK Driving Licence

Appointed Person qualification
Care home, residential or healthcare project experience
