This small fit-out contractor is initially looking for someone to carry out an office fit-out in Mayfair.
This is a very nice job, where they will be working for a Tier 1 contractor; the work comprises fit-out across multiple floors, changing meeting rooms to make open plan office. This is high-end work which and needs to be carried out in July/August and complete by end of September.
They could start someone in June and get them working on other existing sites (to get a feel of the company and processes) before starting this project in July.
The company would look at someone solely to carry out this project, but there is a bigger picture. Ideally, they would like to find someone who can work as a roaming site manager / visiting project manager. So, would suit someone doesn't mind travelling around to different locations, as and when required.
The roaming project manager (looking after 3/4 jobs) would deal with issues, make sure projects are on track, on programme, the right people are allocated and they are doing the right thing. Making sure they are abiding by H&S, signing in, RAMS, reporting back to management etc.
Maybe start on one job and then add another once comfortable, and then another.
Their typical jobs are £50k - £500k but do go bigger. Although they are a fit-out specialist, they do all sorts of work depending on what their clients want. Do anything from fitting doors to building a massive salt barn for a client recently!
