Carrington West is recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join the delivery team on a civil engineering project in the Isles of Scilly. This is a unique opportunity to work on an important infrastructure scheme involving the installation of two pipelines and associated civil engineering works.

We're looking for either an experienced Site Engineer or a Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background who is happy to take ownership of site engineering and day-to-day project delivery.

This role would suit someone who enjoys varied projects and is happy to work away from home for part of the week. Travel to and from the island will be arranged, and there is flexibility around hybrid working where practical.

The Role
Working alongside the project team, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the project from site mobilisation through to completion. You'll ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and in line with quality standards while coordinating site activities and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out and providing engineering support for pipeline and civil engineering works.
Supervising day-to-day site activities and coordinating subcontractors.
Ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with project specifications.
Maintaining quality records, inspection records, as-built information and handover documentation.
Assisting with RAMS, permits and site health and safety compliance.
Liaising with the Project Manager, client representatives and the wider delivery team.
Monitoring programme progress and reporting any risks or issues.
Supporting temporary works, materials management and site logistics where required.
Ensuring all work complies with company and client standards.
About You

Experience as a Site Engineer or Project Manager delivering civil engineering projects.
Previous experience delivering pipeline, utilities or heavy civils projects.
Strong understanding of setting out, quality assurance and site documentation.
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
CSCS Card.
SMSTS or SSSTS.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Happy to work away from home during the week, with travel to the Isles of Scilly provided.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
