Location: Water Orton, full-time onsite

Contract length: 6 months

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join the civils team on a temporary basis for one of their most ambitious projects to date, HS2. This particular role will be structural work on a 5 storey building

Your role as the Site Engineer will be to undertake Site Engineering control and implementation of works on site, including monitoring and reporting of progress as well as supporting the delivery of BBV’s Sustainability activities

Key Accountabilities

*

Production of Task Briefing Sheets

*

Contribution to production of Permit to Dig, including briefing to the workforce

*

Carrying out associated briefings

*

Carrying out Safety Inspections

*

Hazard Identification and contribution to development of SSoW

*

Setting out from primary control provided by others

*

Doing the provision of sketches detailing the setting out information installed

*

Maintain survey equipment including registers of equipment and testing regimes.

*

Completion of Quality Check Sheets and production of information for Handover Documentation

*

Maintaining accurate records – Daily Diary, photographs, records of site discussions

*

Measuring actual materials used and reconciles with theoretical measure

*

Work to Weekly Programme and mark up progress achieved weekly.

*

Take offs and schedules materials accurately

Skills & Experience required

*

Setting out and surveying experience within a civils environment

*

Previous experience working on Civils projects (heavy concrete structure, roadworks etc)

*

Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes.

*

Working knowledge of Permit to Dig System, to suit appointment as Authorised Engineer for Permit issue

*

Setting out techniques – ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS

*

Able to report issues with control and information provided.

*

Ability to read and interpret drawings and schedules

*

Knowledge on Activity Control Plans and production of resultant information for handover files.

*

Strong understanding of construction tolerances

*

Awareness and use of Specification and other Contract documents

*

Able to produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works

*

Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately

*

Knowledge of specification and contract documents

Please note, you must hold a current driving licence and CSCS Card to be considered for this role
