Salary: £45,000 per annum
Car Allowance: £4,255 per annum
Working Pattern: 5 days on site
Hours: 40 per week (Monday - Friday)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our project team. Working on Major career defining Highways and infrastructure project based at Sellafield, Cumbria for a Tier 1 construction contractor. 

Reporting to the Senior Site Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support and quality control across construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved designs, specifications and project requirements.

This is a site-based role, working 5 days per week on site, and will suit an engineer who enjoys being hands-on, working collaboratively with project teams and subcontractors, and taking ownership of delivering high-quality construction work.

Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering control and setting out for construction works in accordance with the latest approved design information.
Ensure works within your area of responsibility comply with project specifications and requirements.
Prepare permits, task briefs and other required documentation for approval and ensure these are in place and communicated before works commence.
Contribute to short-term construction programmes and deliver works in accordance with the agreed programme.
Work closely with the wider project team and subcontractors to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Support the development and delivery of temporary works solutions, ensuring works are constructed, used and dismantled in accordance with approved designs and method statements.
Undertake inspections and checks in line with project Inspection and Test Plans.
Maintain accurate quality assurance records and identify and report non-conformances where appropriate.
Identify incomplete or incorrect design information and escalate issues for resolution.
Maintain accurate site diaries and records covering progress, changes, resources, issues and subcontractor activities.
Provide measurement information to support the Commercial team.
Ensure all required project documentation and records are maintained in accordance with project procedures.
Support and contribute to the development of junior members of the team through engagement, delegation and feedback.
Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental, sustainability and quality performance across the project.
Report incidents, near misses and other concerns promptly and appropriately.
Undertake other duties appropriate to the role and project requirements.About You We are looking for someone with:

Experience working in a Site Engineer role within the construction industry.
A good understanding of construction techniques and site-based engineering activities.
Experience of setting out and engineering control.
An understanding of project specifications and construction documentation.
Good awareness of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
A good appreciation of commercial and contractual requirements.
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
The ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high standards of work.
Qualifications 

HNC or HND in Civil Engineering
