Description:

Site Engineer

Cumbria

£50,000–£65,000 + car or car allowance + pension + healthcare + living-away allowance

Tier 1 Contractor

Opportunity

Are you a Site Engineer looking to join an established main contractor on a substantial construction project in Cumbria?

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer to become part of an experienced project team delivering a technically demanding development. You will join the scheme at an important stage and play a key role in maintaining engineering accuracy, construction quality and programme progress.

The contractor has a strong regional presence and an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects through collaborative working, careful planning and investment in its people.

Previous school, education or Department for Education project experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential. Applications are welcomed from Site Engineer candidates with a strong main contractor background across commercial, healthcare, residential, public-sector or other complex new-build developments.

Responsibilities

As Site Engineer, you will take responsibility for setting out works across the project, ensuring construction activities are completed in line with drawings, specifications and agreed tolerances.

You will maintain accurate site records, produce as-built information, complete quality inspections and raise technical queries where required. The Site Engineer will work closely with the project manager, site management team, design consultants and subcontractors to identify and resolve engineering issues.

You will check line, level and dimensions, support the coordination of temporary works and help ensure subcontract packages are delivered correctly. You will also contribute to quality assurance processes, monitor construction standards and support the project’s health, safety and environmental requirements.

The successful Site Engineer will be organised, technically confident and comfortable communicating with different members of the project team. Experience using digital engineering, document control or quality management systems would be beneficial.

What’s in it for you

The Site Engineer position offers a salary of £50,000–£65,000, depending on experience, alongside a car or car allowance, pension and healthcare.

Candidates based in Cumbria or the surrounding area would be well suited to the position. However, the contractor is also happy to consider experienced Site Engineer candidates from further afield, with living-away allowances available where required.

You will join a supportive and collaborative working environment with opportunities to develop your technical skills, take on greater responsibility and progress towards senior engineering or site management positions.

Application Process

If you’re ready to bring your experience in site engineering to a forward-thinking company, we want to hear from you. Apply today, and we will contact you within 3 working days if your application has been shortlisted.
