Snowdonia VIP Project Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of key civil engineering works on the Snowdonia VIP Project, one of the UK's most significant infrastructure and environmental improvement schemes.

As part of a highly experienced project team, you will play a vital role in setting out, technical assurance, quality control, and site coordination across a range of civil engineering activities. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major infrastructure works within a challenging and rewarding environment, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out setting out and surveying activities for civil, structural, drainage and earthworks packages.
Interpret and implement engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements on site.
Support the planning and day-to-day delivery of construction activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
Monitor site operations to ensure quality standards, programme objectives and productivity targets are achieved.
Assist with the coordination of subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, permits and temporary works requirements.
Produce and maintain accurate site records, QA documentation, inspection records, ITPs and as-built information.
Identify, manage and resolve technical issues, escalating where appropriate.
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Support short-term planning, progress reporting and programme management activities.
Liaise with project management teams, designers, environmental advisors and client representatives to support successful project delivery.
Support the implementation of environmental controls and sustainability initiatives within a sensitive national park and protected landscape environment.

Requirements

Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Strong background in earthworks, structures, drainage, highways, utilities or heavy civil engineering works.
Experience using Leica, Trimble or equivalent surveying equipment.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction methodologies.
Understanding of temporary works procedures and their implementation on site.
Experience working for Tier 1 contractors or on large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Valid CSCS Card (essential).
SMSTS or SSSTS qualification desirable.
Good working knowledge of quality assurance procedures, ITPs and as-built records.
Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance within construction.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team and manage competing priorities.
