Description:

Abatec are recruiting a Site Engineer for a regional Civil Engineering contractor that has diversity of work across Taunton and Devon. Our client boasts involvement with regional frameworks covering utilities, highways, and environmental projects. Our client believes in professional development and has an ICE chartered programme.

As a Site Engineer you will:

* Setting out and surveying on various sites containing highways, earthworks, RC structures, drainage, Pressure, Rising Mains, commercial buildings, etc.

* Locate and mark services ahead of excavation with the use of CAT & GENNY

* Check drawings and take offs for accuracy, ordering materials etc.

* Produce QA documentation.

* Resolve design/technical issues that may arise.

* Working as part of the Project Delivery Team, you will be responsible for the setting out, engineering and technical delivery of £10k to £1m size projects with the opportunity to progress to project management.

* Report directly to our Engineering Manager

* Assist with the production and updating of Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Site documentation.

* Provide guidance/training to Apprentice Engineers

* Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, and the general workforce involved in the project.

Our client requires a Site Engineer with:

* Valid CSCS and experience of robotic total stations and GPS

* Excellent communication skills. (email/phone/face to face)

* A good understating of construction health & safety protocols.

* HND/HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering

* Understanding of AutoCAD

* Recent one, to two years on site experience as a Site Engineer, ideally to include work on highways, earthworks, RC structures, drainage etc.

* Full Driving Licence

* Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines.

* Possess a "can do" attitude and provide support to other members of the team as required.

Progression & Opportunities

* ICE Accredited Training Scheme (IEng/CEng), further education/training schemes.

* Future transition into Project Management.

* Usual progression from Site Engineer to Assistant Project Manager is after two to four years on site depending on ability, competency & commitment.
