Site Engineer

Description:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Site Engineer to join our team on a flagship highways scheme. This major infrastructure project involves extensive carriageway extending, deep drainage, and new bridge structures.

As a Site Engineer, you will play a central role on-site, ensuring works are setting out accurately, executed safely, and completed strictly to specification and program.

Key Responsibilities

Setting Out & Surveying: Carry out precise setting out for earthworks, drainage, structures, pavements, and street furniture using total stations, GPS, and robotic equipment.

Quality Assurance: Prepare and execute Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), maintain quality records, and record accurate as-built data.

Engineering Control: Interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and CAD files; raise and resolve Requests for Information (RFIs) with design teams.

Site Supervision: Manage sub-contractors and direct labour to ensure works progress safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.

Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, perform site inductions, issue Permits to Work, and draft Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).

Record Keeping: Maintain detailed daily site diaries, material tracking logs, and shift handover reports.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Education: HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Experience: Proven track record as a Site/Setting Out Engineer within major highways or heavy civil engineering projects (earthworks, drainage, structures, paving).

Technical Skills: Fully proficient in using modern surveying equipment (Leica/Trimble GPS & Total Stations) and reading AutoCAD design packages.

Certifications:

Valid CSCS Card (Gold or Black preferred)

SSSTS or SMSTS (desirable)

First Aid at Work (desirable)
