Site Engineer
Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Rate: £330 per day (PAYE including Holiday Pay)
£50 Lodge Allowance or £25 travel allowance per day
Hours: Monday to Friday
A major infrastructure redevelopment programme at Devonport Dockyard is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of one of the UK's largest and most technically demanding engineering projects.
Working within a secure operational environment, the Site Engineer will play a key role in ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Please note that security clearance will be required before starting, with eligibility subject to relevant clearance criteria.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you'll work closely with construction teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders to coordinate site activities, maintain engineering standards and support the successful delivery of the programme.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating daily site operations with construction teams and subcontractors
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures, RAMS, permits and Safe Systems of Work
Carrying out site surveys and maintaining accurate engineering records
Reviewing technical drawings and raising TQs, RFIs and NCRs where necessary
Updating CAD drawings and engineering documentation
Supporting project planning, progress meetings and risk management activities
Assisting with project handover and completion documentation About You
We're looking for a Site Engineer with previous experience delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects, supported by strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to site delivery.
You'll ideally have:
Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Valid CSCS Card
Previous site engineering experience on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of construction techniques and engineering best practice
Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage engineering documentation
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD software Desirable experience:
Experience working within regulated environments
Knowledge of NEC contracts
Experience using BIM, Autodesk or Bentley software
Nuclear project experience or additional site-based qualifications What's In It For You?
