Description:

Randstad are seeking an experienced and driven Site Agent to lead a series of high-profile Access for All (AFA) station schemes across a Network Rail framework in the Oxford area.

This is a brilliant long-term contract opportunity (12 months+) for a rail professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a dynamic leader capable of balancing subcontractor management with hands-on self-delivery teams. The scope of work is diverse, covering everything from heavy civils and structural steelwork to complex MEP lift and escalator installations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery: Oversee day-to-day site operations for AFA schemes, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to Network Rail standards.

Delivery Strategy: Manage a hybrid delivery model, successfully overseeing specialist subcontractors while directly managing self-delivery teams.

Scope of Works: Lead diverse engineering packages including deep drainage, civils, structural steelwork, lift shafts, and lift/escalator installations.

Documentation & Compliance: Review, update, and implement Work Package Plans (WPPs), Task Briefing Sheets (TBS), and Risk Assessments (RAMS).

Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact on-site for the client (Network Rail), station stakeholders, and third-party authorities.

Essential Criteria

⚠️ Please Note: Due to the fast-tracked nature of these schemes, previous Network Rail framework experience is strictly critical. Applications without demonstrable rail experience cannot be considered.

Proven track record as a Site Agent or experienced Sub Agent within a Network Rail environment.

Strong technical knowledge of Station AFA schemes, civils, structural steel, or lift/shaft installations.

Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) card is essential.

SMSTS, First Aid, and relevant NVQ or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Deep understanding of Network Rail standards, line blockages, and possessions.

Why Apply?

Stability: A guaranteed 12+ months of continuous work on a secure framework.

Location: Centered in the Oxford area with excellent transport links.

Complex Projects: Prestige of delivering critical accessibility infrastructure that makes a tangible difference to public transport users.
