SITE AGENT – MAJOR ENERGY PROJECT – NORTH EAST – CONTRACT (Inside IR35)

Major Energy / Carbon Capture Project

Site Agent currently required in the North East - CarmichaelUK is recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join one of the UK's most significant low-carbon energy infrastructure projects. This landmark scheme will play a key role in the UK's decarbonisation strategy through the delivery of world-leading carbon capture technology and associated energy infrastructure.

We are seeking a driven and proactive Site Agent with a proven track record of delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will take ownership of site operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of works while maintaining the highest standards of quality, programme performance and subcontractor management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day delivery of construction activities across designated project areas.

Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour to achieve programme objectives.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, ITPs and contractual requirements.

Drive a strong safety culture and ensure all activities comply with company and project HSEQ procedures.

Monitor progress against programme targets and implement corrective actions where required.

Review and manage construction methodologies, permits, RAMS and temporary works requirements.

Conduct quality inspections and oversee the implementation of quality assurance processes.

Lead subcontractor performance reviews, audits and quality assessments.

Manage project documentation and ensure accurate site records are maintained.

Work closely with engineering, commercial and planning teams to achieve project milestones.

Attend client and stakeholder meetings, providing progress updates and technical input.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a Site Agent, Agent or Senior Sub Agent on large-scale infrastructure, energy, industrial, water, rail or heavy civil engineering projects.

Strong understanding of construction processes and project delivery methodologies.

Demonstrable experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners.

Proven background in quality management, inspection processes and assurance documentation.

Experience managing ITPs, NCRs, quality audits and handover documentation.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.

Qualifications

HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

SMSTS.

CSCS Card.

First Aid at Work.

Temporary Works knowledge desirable.

NEBOSH or IOSH qualification advantageous.
