About the Role
Due to winning more projects and an increased workload in our client's Southern Region, we are seeking an experienced Site Agent or Sub Agent. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to oversee civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Management of Site Staff and Sub-contractors: Lead and coordinate site operatives and sub-contractors to ensure efficient project execution.
Programme Management: Prepare and monitor programmes of work to keep projects on track.
Safety and Compliance: Develop method statements, hazard risk assessments, and project management plans, ensuring all work complies with safety, quality, and environmental policies.
Budget Management: Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
Design Coordination: Manage the coordination of project designs.
Sub-contractor Engagement: Assess and engage sub-contractors, fostering strong working relationships.
Contract Administration: Understand and administer contract changes effectively.
Community Engagement: Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary to maintain good relations and reputation with clients.
Skills Required
Qualifications: Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent), up-to-date SMSTS qualification, and appropriate CSCS card.
Experience: Proven experience managing civil engineering projects with a main contractor, including highways works, earthworks, and structures.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability in people management and motivation of staff.
Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan ahead.
Eligibility: Must be eligible to live and work in the UK and possess a full UK driving license. Willingness to travel throughout the Southern Region is essential. A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable.
