Description:

We’re supporting a well‑established civil engineering contractor in the North East who is looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent to oversee the delivery of key civils and infrastructure schemes. This role suits a confident operational leader who can manage site teams, drive programme performance, and ensure safe, high‑quality delivery across complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Lead day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring works progress safely, efficiently, and in line with programme.

*

Team & Subcontractor Management: Oversee site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining high standards of workmanship.

*

Programme & Planning: Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain project momentum.

*

Quality Assurance: — Ensure all works meet specification, completing inspections, ITPs, and relevant documentation.

*

Health & Safety Compliance: Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with CDM and company procedures.

*

Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, clients, and local authorities to maintain smooth project delivery.

*

Commercial Awareness: Support commercial teams with progress updates, variations, and site‑based cost control.

What You’ll Bring

*

Proven experience as a Site Agent, Sub Agent, or senior operational role within civil engineering.

*

Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, utilities, structures, highways, or public realm.

*

Confident communicator with excellent leadership and problem‑solving skills.

*

Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

*

SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid; additional civils‑related qualifications advantageous.
