WHAT TO EXPECT

JLR is looking for a Signal Integrity Simulation Engineer to join their Electromagnetic (EM) Simulation Team. Who are responsible for developing and implementing virtual tests relating to electrical systems on JLR vehicles. You will be for creating methods and tests to assess the electromagnetic performance of PCBs signals and power integrity.

This includes assisted and automated driving technology such as radar and camera link communication, connected car technologies such as cellular, broadcast and V2X and EMC arising from high-speed networks and electrification.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Simulations at a PCB level
Manage and lead the continual development of tools and techniques which enhance SIPI analysis including correlating simulation to measurement and implementing opportunities to automate the process.
Deliver simulation results and engineering analysis to stakeholders following the virtual methods, for example end to end channel simulations and timing margin analysis.
Collaborate with the relevant hardware design teams and stakeholders to ensure virtual methods are fit for purpose and design layout rules are implemented.
Mentor and train team members from other hardware design squads on SIPI simulation best practise. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Practical experience of using EM simulation tools such as CST STUDIO SUITE, Altair, ANSYS or equivalent
Proficient in using simulation tools to investigate signal and power integrity on complex PCB environments (CST PCB STUDIO SUITE, Pollex, SIWave, Q3D, Keysight ADS, HyperLynx etc)
A comprehensive understanding of EMC
Working experience in PCB design tools such as Altium
Experience in measurement techniques relating to signal and power integrity – high speed scopes, VNA, TD
