The Opportunity

Are you a skilled Formwork Specialist looking to secure a high-earning rate on a major civil engineering or structural project in Teesside?

Search Consultancy is recruiting an experienced Shuttering Joiner for a high-profile development in Elwick, Hartlepool. Offering a top-market rate of £28.00 per hour (CIS), this role provides excellent site continuity and steady weekly hours for a precision formwork tradesperson.

If you hold a valid Blue or Gold CSCS card, excel in traditional timber shuttering and system formwork, and want a top-tier pay rate with an established regional contractor, we want to hear from you.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Working directly alongside civil engineers, groundworks gangs, and steel fixers, you will be responsible for delivering structural formwork to precise technical specifications:

Formwork Assembly & Erection: Erecting, securing, and aligning system shuttering (such as Peri, Doka, or MEVA) alongside traditional bespoke timber shuttering for retaining walls, bases, ground beams, and structural frames.

Precision Line & Level: Setting up formwork strictly to line, level, and structural drawings, ensuring all panels are thoroughly tied, braced, and sealed to withstand concrete pour pressures.

Bespoke Timber Fabrication: Accurately measuring and fabricating timber box-outs, void formers, stop-ends, and holding-down bolt templates prior to pour schedules.

Striking & Material Care: Safely striking formwork post-cure, cleaning and repairing panels, and applying release agents to prepare materials for efficient re-use.

Site Safety & Standards: Adhering strictly to site safety guidelines around excavations, crane lifts, and pouring operations.

What We're Looking For

To satisfy site entry rules and civil engineering safety standards, applicants must possess:

CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Formwork) CSCS card is strictly mandatory.

Trade Background: Proven, hands-on experience as a Shuttering Joiner across civil engineering, commercial RC frames, or heavy groundworks.

Tools & Kit: Full set of professional formwork hand tools, power tools (saws, impact drivers, levels, lasers), and standard 5-point PPE.

Transport: Reliable transport to reach the project site in Elwick, Hartlepool daily.

Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
