Shift Technician - Data Centre / Critical Facilities
Location: Milan area, Italy
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Shift Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of a critical facility environment. The role will involve planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, site inspections, contractor supervision, and monitoring of building management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
Support the operation and upkeep of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure.
Perform regular site checks to ensure equipment and systems are operating correctly.
Assist with fault finding, troubleshooting, and first-line technical response.
Escort and supervise subcontractors working on-site.
Monitor facility systems through the BMS and escalate issues where required.
Ensure work is completed in line with site safety procedures, maintenance standards, and operational requirements.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activity, and technical interventions.
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in facilities maintenance, electrical maintenance, or a similar technical environment.
Good working knowledge of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.
Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on-site.
Previous exposure to data centres, critical environments, industrial facilities, or similar high-availability sites would be highly advantageous.
Knowledge of HVAC systems would be beneficial.
Skills and Attributes
Strong practical maintenance and troubleshooting ability.
Good attention to detail and a professional approach to site work.
Able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors.
Confident using Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
English language skills would be an advantage.
Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
Education
A technical diploma or relevant qualification is preferred, although equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
