Shift Supervisor

We are recruiting for a permanent Shift Supervisor based in Glasshoughton WF10 5XY for a leading tray wash operation. The successful candidate will report to the site manager and will oversee the day to day running of 2 machines for the wash operation.

Salary: £43,300
Working Hours are: 4 on 4 off split between days and nights rotational pattern
Location: Glasshougton WF10 5XY
Duration: Permanent

As a Shift Supervisor you will need to have:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Must be able to demonstrate effective problem solving and analytical capability
PC / IT Skills - Able to complete all duties requiring use of applications such as SharePoint, Excel, Word, Emails and Teams. Complete hourly trackers, shift reports and site management information systems
Manages and controls performance, cost, and capacity of external service partners
Accountable - Takes actions when goals aren't met, monitoring the progress of key initiatives and drives production to meet operational targets and goals
Conscientious - Reliable, honest and treats people with respect. Always willing to do their best and drive performance
Health, Safety & Environmental Focus - Ensures Safety is prioritised for the site and their team. Capable of carrying out Health, Safety and Environmental audits, daily safety walk arounds, delivering safety briefs, has a clear understanding of risks/unsafe conditions/unsafe behaviours and how to reduce or control. Enforces all HSE site polices and able to address issues with the staff.
Comfortable making decisions and dealing with daily management tasks.

Role of a Shift Supervisor:

Sole management and responsibility of two wash machines; to be accountable and responsible for their own and others' health and safety by enforcing Health & Safety protocols to effectively protect staff, contractors, and visitors; ensure daily audits for safety and quality are completed
Achieving site performance and quality targets through the effective and efficient planning and running of the shift.
Motivating a team of operatives through good communication, team briefs, training and development to ensure staff understand their roles and the role within the team.
The implementation and monitoring of all company processes and procedures including quality control checks and in line with health & safety procedures
Effectively liaising with customers and suppliers.
Carry out stock counts as required during the shift
Effective communication with internal departments, management with any issues
People management including return to work, holiday planning, staff reviews, timesheets, conduct management through investigation/disciplinary
Ensure that overall general housekeeping adherence is maintained
Step up responsibilities for other management colleagues as necessary
