Salary: £36,250 per annum
Shift Pattern: 2 Nights / 2 Days / 4 Off
Shift Times: 7:00am–7:00pm / 7:00pm–7:00am

The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established manufacturing business based in Elland, currently seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to join their production team.
As Shift Supervisor, you will support the Shift Manager in the day-to-day operation and performance of the team while on shift. You will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards and operational procedures are consistently achieved.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional with a strong background in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies who is looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Shift Manager with the effective operation and performance of the production team.
* Assess and resolve quality and production issues where possible, escalating where required.
* Ensure all workstations are correctly set up and that the appropriate SOP documentation is clearly displayed.
* Ensure finished goods are transferred promptly to the correct storage locations and are ready for shipping.
* Maintain 5S standards and ensure housekeeping remains at a consistently high level.
* Monitor production standards and ensure targets and quality requirements are achieved.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the shift.
* Ensure company policies, procedures and health & safety requirements are followed.
* Provide effective communication between production teams and management.
* Support the team in identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and performance.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Shift Supervisor / Production Supervisor within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Proven experience in a similar supervisory role.
* Six Sigma and/or Lean experience is essential.
* Strong understanding of production standards and how to ensure these are achieved.
* Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings to ensure products are manufactured correctly.
* Good understanding of quality requirements and production processes.
* Experience with 5S and continuous improvement principles.
* Understanding of and compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a production team.
