Shift Process Operator
West Thurrock, Essex
£41,342 per annum (including London Weighting Allowance)
Permanent | Full-Time | 4 On / 4 Off Shift Pattern
Pin Point Recruitment is seeking a reliable and motivated Shift Process Operator to join a leading chemical manufacturing operation based in West Thurrock. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated production environment, operating advanced process control systems and plant equipment as part of a skilled operations team.
As a Shift Process Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating and monitoring chemical manufacturing processes using computer-controlled systems and plant equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and monitor computer-controlled production processes.
* Monitor process parameters and make adjustments to settings and set points as required.
* Carry out manual operation of pumps, valves, and associated plant equipment.
* Take process samples for laboratory testing and conduct basic in-house analysis where required.
* Oversee goods receiving and dispatch activities, including loading and unloading road tankers.
* Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently (training may be provided where applicable).
* Complete production records and maintain accurate operational documentation.
* Perform routine housekeeping, filter changes, and general plant maintenance activities.
* Report equipment faults, process issues, and safety concerns promptly.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
* Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Pack and store finished products in accordance with company procedures.
* Manage waste products and ensure correct disposal processes are followed.
* Provide clear and effective handovers to incoming and outgoing shift teams.
Requirements
* Previous experience within a manufacturing, chemical, production, process, engineering, or industrial environment.
* Ability to follow procedures and work safely in a process-driven environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
* Forklift Truck (FLT) experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
* Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends.

* This is a 24/7 operational site, and the successful candidate must be able to work:
* 4 On / 4 Off Rotating Shift Pattern
* 2 Day Shifts
* 2 Night Shifts
* 4 Days Off
