I am currently recruiting for a production Shift Manager looking to take the next step in their career.

You will have some experience, 4 - 5 years and will be driven and aspirational individual. The role will develop to that of Factory Manager, with overall responsibility for all production and site based activities.

The role is offered with salary of £45 - £48K and offers an excellent opportunity to join a company and make a major impact in a business with serious growth aspirations.

The role will require hard work and longer hours than usual (Mon – Thu 8am to 5-30pm, Fri 7am – 2pm) due to the make up of the factory, but the reward is positive progression and development

The successful candidate will report directly to the company Directors and will grow tobe a major part of its senior management team, working towards continued growth and success. You will take responsibility for implementing continuous improvement projects with a view to improving efficiencies, formalising measuring methods (KPIs etc), and considering CapEx opportunities. You will be able to demonstrate previous relevant experience of taking the lead in such things

You ideally come from a FMCG or packaging background, but everyone will be considered.

You will have 25 direct reports (with more expected this year), including the production manager, team leaders and general operatives.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Staff allocation and managing the production order book

* Driving and improving production output & efficiencies

* Driving and improving a “Continuous Improvement” culture

* Monitoring and improving OEE

* Monitoring and developing staff training

* Recruitment

* Driving and improving site H&S

* Driving, monitoring and measuring Continues Improvement through lean manufacturing techniques

Skills and Experience

* 3 to 5 years’ experience and proven track record of working and leading a cross functional team in a production based environment.

* Ideally hands on experience of leading teams within FMCG, or in the chemical manufacturing industry.

* Can demonstrate tangible improvement using KPI’s such as production metrics and performance evaluation.

* Strong continuous improvement background and knowledge of key CI techniques such as kaizen, waste reduction and operational efficiency improvement.

* Ability to handle raw production data and produce internal improvement reports to share with company Directors.

* Strong IT skills
