Shift Maintenance Engineer

Are you a hands-on Mechanical or Electrical Engineer looking for a new challenge within a modern manufacturing environment?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and successful manufacturing business where you will play a key role in keeping a busy production operation running safely, efficiently and reliably.

You don't need to have previous experience within manufacturing, we are interested in people who have strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance skills and are comfortable working with automated production machinery.

The Role

Working as part of the site engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production and plant equipment, responding to breakdowns and carrying out planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment availability.

Key Tasks:

Responding quickly and effectively to production breakdowns
Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance
Electrical and mechanical fault finding
Diagnosing faults on automated production machinery
Working with PLCs, drives, motors, sensors and control systems
Maintaining pneumatic and mechanical systems
Working closely with production colleagues to minimise downtime
Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely and to the required standardsRequirements:

We're interested in speaking with multi-skilled, electrical or mechanically biased engineers who have experience of fault finding, troubleshooting and repair in manufacturing or an industrial environment.

You will ideally have:

Recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship
Strong practical maintenance experience
Good electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding ability
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work a shift pattern
Experience with PLCs, inverters/VSDs, motors, sensors, pneumatics or similar - advantageous

Rate:

Fixed rate - £21.13 p/h (£39,500 based on av 36 hr week)
