Shift Leader – Electrical (Days & Nights)
Location: Farringdon, London
Salary: £58,000
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – Days & Nights

Alice Rose is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Shift Leader to join the maintenance team on one of London’s most prestigious landmark sites, just a short walk from Farringdon Station. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a leading property services provider with a long-standing reputation for excellence in the Building Services sector.
The successful candidate will come from a strong electrical background, ideally apprentice trained or fully qualified through City & Guilds or NVQ. You’ll have proven experience in commercial maintenance, leading a team of engineers, and overseeing PPM and reactive tasks across a range of building services systems. Experience using Niagara 4 and Niagara 5 within BMS platforms and holding an HV or LV Authorised Person ticket will be highly advantageous.
Shift Leader Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the shift team, ensuring all maintenance is delivered to a high standard
* Oversee and complete planned preventive and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems
* Ensure plant faults and defects are promptly resolved to maintain continuous operation
* Maintain detailed records for Health & Safety, building compliance, and quality assurance
* Manage subcontractor performance and ensure safe working practices are always followed
* Support and develop engineers through training, mentoring, and annual appraisals
* Build and maintain positive client relationships through professional communication and service delivery
* Ensure compliance with PTW (Permit to Work) and RAMS documentation
Shift Leader Requirements
* City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 or NVQ equivalent in Electrical Installation / Building Services
* HV and/or LV Authorised Person certification
* Strong background in commercial maintenance environments (e.g. corporate offices, banks, data centres, or mixed-use estates)
* Proven leadership and team management experience
* Good working knowledge of UPS systems, generators, power distribution, HVAC, and BMS (Niagara 4/5)
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure
