We are working with a large-scale renewable energy business operating within the anaerobic digestion and biogas sector. The site operates a heavy industrial, process-driven environment, with a strong focus on reliability, compliance and continued investment in plant and equipment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the site on a structured 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, covering both days and nights (4 days, 4 nights, 12-hour shifts: 6am–6pm / 6pm–6am). You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of mechanical, electrical and process equipment, carrying out fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance to keep the site running efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

This role would suit a hands-on Maintenance Engineer from a heavy industrial background who is looking for a well-structured shift pattern, strong earning potential and the chance to develop specialist skills within the growing renewable energy and gas handling sector. Responsibilities of a Mechanical Engineer:

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and process equipment

Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently, logging and tracking work through a CMMS system

Maintain and repair equipment including pumps, shredders, macerators, compressors and gas handling systems

Work with PLC, SCADA and C&I fault-finding data, drawings and P&ID diagrams

Coordinate and manage contractors on-site, including permit to work processes

Support the delivery of on-site capital and improvement projects

Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance at all times

Skills & Qualifications of a Mechanical Engineer:

Minimum level 2 Engineering qualification

Proven maintenance engineering experience gained within a heavy industrial environment

Confident, hands-on fault-finding and repair skills across mechanical and electrical systems

Full UK driving licence
