Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off
Shift Times: 7:00am – 7:00pm

Altura Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Shift Engineer / Duty Technician on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious military private club, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining a high-quality environment for members, guests and staff.
This varied position offers an excellent work-life balance with a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, working 7:00am to 7:00pm, and the opportunity to work across a unique hospitality environment comprising 196 bedrooms, meeting rooms, restaurants, bars, kitchens and extensive back-of-house facilities.
The Role
As a Shift Engineer / Duty Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring the property remains safe, compliant and operating efficiently at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
* Planned and reactive maintenance across the entire property.
* Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general building repairs.
* Monitoring and maintaining HVAC, boilers, pumps, lighting and plant equipment.
* Responding promptly to maintenance requests from guests, members and staff.
* Supporting preventative maintenance schedules and statutory compliance checks.
* Maintaining guest bedrooms, kitchens, restaurants and public areas to a high standard.
* Liaising with contractors and ensuring safe working practices are followed.
* Participating in emergency responses including fire alarms, leaks and power failures.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
* Experience in general building maintenance.
* HVAC maintenance experience.
* Practical electrical and/or plumbing knowledge.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.
* The ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
Desirable
* Experience within hotels, hospitality, leisure or private clubs.
* Experience working in guest-facing environments.
* Experience supervising contractors.
* Military background or an understanding of the Armed Forces community.
