Hours: Shift Hours - 12 Hours Per Day, 33.6 hours per week
Location: Tyseley, Birmingham, B11 2BA
At Veolia, the Shift Engineer ensures the Energy Recovery Facility and Clinical Incinerator plants are operated safely, efficiently and remain compliant in line with the site Environmental Permit.

What you'll do
Managing a shift team to efficiently operate the Energy Recovery Facility and Clinical plant and equipment as required by operational demands.
Carrying out the role of Control Person ensuring all contractors and maintenance teams are set to work in line with Veolia ERFSafety Rules.
Ensuring compliance with all aspects of the site Environmental Permit
Maintaining statutory and statistical information in accordance with Company Procedures and Policies.
Training, mentoring and developing shift staff to prepare them for future advancement.
Be available to act as the designated Senior Authorised Person during Plant Outages.
Liaising with site maintenance staff to provide efficient work scheduling and planning.
Representing the site management team out of hours.
Desired experience
Relevant electro-mechanical / power engineering qualifications / experience.
A strong no-compromise approach to health and safety and environmental compliance.
To be able to carry out this role you must be IT literate.
Strong leadership skills, with an ability to mentor and coach individuals effectively.
To have worked on a shift rota previously and understand the demands.
Extensive knowledge of the waste/power industry including legislative knowledge
Experience of operating energy from a waste facility or power station
Knowledge of google docs as well as word products
