Shift Electrical Engineer

Shift Pattern 3 Shift (6-2, 2-10, 10-6) – Monday to Friday

Salary: £45,000 to £52,000 + Pension + Overtime + Benefits

Location: Middleton

The Role

* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment.

* Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults quickly and effectively.

* Fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery.

* Maintaining three-phase motors, control circuits and variable speed drives.

* Troubleshooting electrical safety circuits and relay logic.

* Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.

* Completing maintenance documentation using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

* Supporting continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.

* Working safely and complying with all Health & Safety procedures.

* Collaborating with production teams to minimise machine downtime.

Key Skills

* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

* ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.

* Strong electrical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing environment.

* Experience with:

* PLC fault diagnosis

* Three-phase motor control

* Relay logic

* AC & DC variable speed drives

* Electrical safety circuits

* Sensors (proximity, optical etc.)

* Experience working with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron or Telemecanique equipment.

* Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.

* Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.

* Excellent problem-solving skills.

* Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure.
