Job Title: SHEQ Manager
Job Overview:

Vector Recruitment is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a talented SHEQ Manager to join our client, an innovative and fast-growing drainage contractor. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the execution of health, safety, quality, and environmental (SHEQ) programmes across our client's operations. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and driving continuous improvement.

Salary and Benefits:
 
Competitive salary, circa £60,000 per annum

Travel Requirement: Regular travel across the UK, including frequent site visits.

Key Responsibilities:
 
Strategic Development: Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve the client’s HSEQ goals, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices.
Site Oversight: Conduct regular site visits to monitor activities, perform welfare checks, and execute safety and quality observations. Provide guidance to personnel, document findings, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Compliance Inspections: Conduct inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
Employee Training: Collaborate with various business divisions to ensure comprehensive on-boarding and HSQE training for new employees. Maintain accurate training records.
Project Support: Act as the liaison on SHEQ matters between clients and the business. Prepare Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), perform risk assessments, and manage permits.
Incident Management: Oversee timely completion of incident reports, assist in post-accident investigations, manage care for workplace injuries, and coordinate Occupational Health Clinic visits and return-to-work evaluations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
 
Proven SHEQ Management experience in civil engineering or construction environment.
Proficiency in fall protection, confined space entry, gas detection equipment, respiratory equipment, and general PPE.
Recognised safety and environmental certifications (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards is advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applications.
Familiarity with HSQE management software is preferred.
