Location: Devon & Cornwall Field Based - South West Regional Coverage

Are you a technically proficient Setting Out Engineer looking to deliver high-precision engineering control across diverse civil and residential schemes within a leading specialist engineering consultancy?
A Leading Specialist is expanding its operations and seeking a highly skilled Setting Out Engineer to cover the South West. This is a pivotal role offering the chance to execute critical site control, dimensional management, and verification across a variety of projects, ranging from major civils infrastructure to residential new builds.
The Opportunity:
You will play a vital role in providing primary engineering control, setting out, and data verification. Your day-to-day remit involves:
Creating, establishing, and extracting digital setting-out data from design models for direct field execution.
Executing high-precision setting out on site utilizing robotic total stations and GNSS/GPS instrumentation.
Conducting rigorous QA checks on all site observations, structural alignments, and as-built survey drawings.
Interfacing between site engineering teams and design data using LSS and AutoCAD to verify build tolerances and project deliverables.
Technical Essentials:
To be successful, you must demonstrate high-level technical proficiency:
Mandatory: At least 2 years proven field competence operating robotic total stations and GNSS/GPS equipment for setting-out operations on active sites.
Compliance/Systems: Demonstrated ability to create and extract site data, alongside working proficiency in LSS and AutoCAD.
Experience: Verifiable track record delivering engineering setting out across diverse environments, from major civils to residential new builds.
Mobility: Full UK driving licence with mobility to cover project sites across the Cornwall and Devon operational hubs.
The Package:
Base salary of £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + company vehicle & Equipmemt
