Key Responsibilities
1. Setting out: Mark positions for excavation, foundations, kerbs, etc.
2. Survey data: Use total stations, GPS, and drawings to set points
3. Accuracy: Check levels and positions match design
4. Coordination: Liaise with site teams, engineers, and contractors
5. Safety: Follow site rules, wear PPE
6. Records: Keep logs of set-out data and changes
Requirements – UK 2026
- Quals: HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Surveying
- Experience: 1-3 years setting out on civils sites
- Skills: Survey equipment, CAD/BIM, problem-solving
- Certs: CSCS card (engineering)

- AM: Review drawings, check equipment
- Work: Set out points, check levels
- PM: Update records, report issues
