Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Setting Out Engineer for a freelance position in Guildford. The role involves contributing to a high-profile public realm project, focusing on paving, earthworks, and drainage. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a transformative project within the heart of Guildford, enhancing community spaces and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
·Setting Out: Accurate setting out and surveying of construction activities, including paving, earthworks, and drainage.
·Quality Control: Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standard and in compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
·Coordination: Liaising with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of project plans.
·Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including progress reports, measurements, and any changes to plans.
·Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies on-site swiftly and effectively.
Requirements:
·Experience: Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer in civil engineering projects, particularly in public realm works.
·Skills: Proficient in the use of surveying equipment (e.g., Total Stations, GPS), and software (e.g., AutoCAD).
·Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent).
·Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, health & safety regulations, and quality standards.
·Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder management.
·Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing project demands and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
