Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Setting Out Engineer to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately translating design plans into precise on-site measurements, ensuring the construction aligns perfectly with project specifications. Your expertise will help drive the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects, contributing to the creation of safe, efficient, and high-quality structures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects where your technical skills and enthusiasm will make a real impact.

Duties

Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to establish accurate setting out points on-site
Use surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS systems, and levels to mark out positions for foundations, walls, and other structural elements
Collaborate closely with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to ensure precise implementation of design intent
Conduct regular checks throughout construction phases to verify alignment and elevation accuracy
Maintain detailed records of setting out activities, including measurements and adjustments made during construction
Assist in resolving on-site technical issues related to positioning and alignment promptly and effectively
Ensure all setting out activities comply with health and safety standards and project quality requirementsSkills

Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer or similar role within the construction or civil engineering sector
Strong electrical experience is highly desirable to understand electrical layouts and integration points during setting out processes
Proficiency with surveying tools such as total stations, GPS devices, levels, and related software applications
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in measurements and data recording
Effective communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on-site
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering plans clearly
